The forcast was for rain showers the majority of the day but we decided to take a chance and head on out to Zion National Park to do a little shopping and take a chance at a hike.
Zion is only about a 45 minute drive from St. George.
The shuttles are running now through summer for the majority of the park and so you are required to park at either the park entrance or one of several locations in the town of Springdale. It's a 40 minute shuttle ride from the first stop to the last stop and the shuttles run both directions at 15 minute intervals. You aren't required however to take a shuttle if you are heading over to the east side of the park and through the mile long tunnel.
By the time we got back to the shuttle, we were cold and soaked to the bone but despite our slight discomfort, we felt exhilerated because of the incredible beauty we had just witnessed on a cool, misty day. A Zion hike never disappoints!
We had worked up an appetite and by the time we got back to our car, it was time for dinner. We ate at a Tai restaurant across the street from the movie theater called Tai Sappa. The food there is pretty good and there are plenty of gluten and dairy free options if that is your preference.
